Notes from the work.
Objects. Colour. Thoughts. Doubts. Decisions. Random.
Ongoing.
Latest on top.
Under the hood
Had ChatGPT do an SEO check-up on the site.
Updated recommended metadata.
Added a direct route to available objects on the front page.
Connected Google Search Console.
Found out the Letter signup on the front page wasn’t working. Fixed that too.
In between the work work.
Three formats for sharing
Testing three different post formats for objects on @popxstudio.dk.
One reel.
One object card.
One context look.
Initial thought was to keep the three together in the grid. Too tidy. Works better mixed.
Same object.
Different views.
Will continue testing with new objects after the move.
One day left.
Not that I’m counting.
Let go
Made four Sticks for (unofficial) 3daysofdesign.
I never thought of them as objects that would leave the studio.
They were made for show.
One isn’t even varnished.
Today I changed my mind.
I’ll finish them.
Put them out there.
(After the move)
I can’t keep incubating everything I make.
What else do I have lying around?
Packing up
Sticks off the walls.
Colours into boxes.
Tools packed away.
The work is on pause-ish.
Moving next week.
Changing the story
Two collaboration requests landed in my inbox this past week. Creator collaborations.
In my mind, I have been sharing POP X STUDIO for eight months, and my story has changed.
I forget that others see only a fraction of what I share. If any.
A reminder that changing the work and changing how people see what I do are two different timelines.
Changing the story will take time.
And repetition.

The process is disappearing
In my morning pages, I realised something.
The process of making has become natural.
Sand.
Prime.
Tape.
Brush.
Paint.
Varnish.
Light.
The work flows between painting, writing, composing and the colour system.
I think it's called routine.
It's a routine I like.
The process is now familiar enough to disappear.
the structure caught up
Removed Clues from the main menu.
They were made to help with custom choices.
Custom is no longer the direction.
Clues remain inside Colours.
For the nerdy ones.
Added Letter and About to the menu.
Updated the Instagram footer link to @popxstudio.dk.
Removed the old Clues highlights from Instagram.
The structure now follows the work:
Colours
Objects
Log
Letter
(About)
Two blues added
The two tests are now part of the active colour collection.
SALTWATER GLASS

37 active colours.
Instagram channels
A clearer division between @puksjeldan and @popxstudio.dk is appearing.
I’ll start using @popxstudio.dk more.
It will hold the work.
Not just be a business card.
My own profile holds the looking.
Glimpses of life and work.
They can overlap.
Maybe. Sometimes.
Time will tell.
More blue
Looked at the blue collection together.
DEEP END, NO SPLASHING is in.
Decided to add both colours tested yesterday too.
NCS S 8010-R90B
NCS S 1020-B70G
The blue collection is getting big.
So be it.
Objects outside the studio
A design shop abroad got in touch about selling the objects.
It made me think beyond making the work.
Where do I actually want the work to exist?
A context with a point of view.
Made a short list.
Said no to this one.
Two blues
Tested two possible additions to the colour collection.
NCS S 8010-R90B
Because of Hockney.
A blue that almost disappears into black.
NCS S 1020-B70G
Because I craved it.
Letting them dry.
Deep end, no splashing
Added a new colour to the active collection.
DEEP END, NO SPLASHING
NCS S 4040-B10G
The paint is here.
The system is updated.
35 active colours.
Lapse and relapse
Started The letter about the butterflies.
Realised I was forcing it.
It became a letter about forcing the work.
Forced that one too.
Awareness is an ongoing game.
Stopped.
For now.
Hockney, checks and deep blue
Started a Colour Block inspired by David Hockney in an interview with Louisiana.
The outfit.
The person wearing it.
His jacket was darker than anything in the collection.
Translated into Denim Before Wash.
The collection might be missing a blue that almost disappears into black.
Also found a method for making checks.
